Constitution of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of The United States of America. To inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its Members; to quicken the spirit of American Patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization, and to provide for its government, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America, ordains this Constitution. The works of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks are well known throughout the country. Organized on February 16, 1868,it is the largest Fraternal-Charitable Organization in the United States of America, consisting of American Citizens of its 50 States and Territories. The B.P.O.E. is dedicated to service to our communities, and our
country. The various phases of our work, whether it be with the fortunate or
unfortunate youths, care of the needy, veterans service, furtherance of
Americanism, or fraternal activities involve the membership of over 1,400,000
men and women. |
